Refunds & Cancellations

Run the Peninsula is a non-profit organization that gives back to the community and the trails that we run on.

Refunds & Cancellations

Per the marathon running industry policy, all entry fees are non-refundable. This policy applies to all entrants and is in effect whether you are injured, have an unexpected family/business emergency, have a medical emergency, etc. If the course has to be changed or the race cancelled due to an act of nature, or the event time changed due to circumstances beyond our control, there are no refunds or rollovers.

You do have the option to purchase opt-in registration protection at the time of registration.

If you are unable to attend the race you are more than welcome to switch to the virtual race. See information below on how to make changes to your event.

If you do cancel, you may take the amount of your entry fee as a charitable donation on your income tax return. The Port Angeles Marathon Association is a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization.

Pasta dinner tickets and massage purchases are refundable until May 15 with an emailed request.

Changes

Registered participants can change event online at Runsignup. Be Prepared to enter your confirmation code (located in your email confirmation) and date of birth for access. The fee to UPGRADE will be the difference between the amount paid for the original entry and the current price of the new event choice. There will be no refunds for downgrading. Changes made after May 1st will not be guaranteed your shirt for the new event choice (you may receive a shirt from your previously selected event).

Bib Transfers

(Don’t be a bandit)

While it may seem like no big deal to run without registering (a bandit) or give or sell your race bib to another person, it does present serious issues to both the race organizers and the participant field. Race results and finisher’s awards can be impacted and medical staff might not be able to identify a participant in need of treatment on the course. It is imperative that the person wearing the bib and taking part in the race is the same person that is in our registrant database.

We allow FREE bib transfers one week prior to the event. Please email us at rtp@runthepeninsula.com if you would like to transfer your bib to someone.

If a person is caught wearing a bib that is registered to someone else, both parties will be banned from participating in all Port Angeles Marathon Association events for a period of one year. The person wearing the bib will also be disqualified from any official results.

Volunteer With Us

This event could not happen without the support of the community, our volunteers and the Peninsula Trails Coalition (Build and maintain the Olympic Discovery Trail). Run the Peninsula series takes place on the Olympic Discovery Trail, which is run by the Peninsula Trails Coalition. The Peninsula Trails Coalition is an amazing all volunteer group that helps to build, protect, grow and maintain the trail. The Peninsula Trails Coalition is a 501(c)3 Corporation registered in the State of Washington Tax ID 91-1416511.

All of the Run the Peninsula events will give back to various groups in the community. Proceeds from all of the Run the Peninsula races will go towards the Olympic Discovery Trail and other groups in the community.
